Why Green Umbrella GreenCut?
Traditional concrete surface profiling, grinding, honing and polishing has taken a macro (visible) approach for many years. Focusing on diamond tooling, metal bond abrasives and resin bond pads mounted on grinders, scrubbers or buffers to achieve the desired profile on a concrete surface.
Modern test methods and a growing sample size of completed “polished concrete” floors featuring this abrasive tooling approach completed using a common dry grind method has revealed rapidly declining, even failed polished concrete floors. This is due in large part to a failure to thoroughly refine the wear surface.
GreenCut engages concrete refinement on a micro (small/invisible to the eye) level by introducing liquid cutting beads onto the concrete surface. Borrowing technology common within other industries to cut or sharpen, the use of a liquid cutting agent to mill or refine the surface of concrete within a wet environment producing a better surface that has a gloss that is genuine and a surface density that is impossible using a straight dry method of concrete polishing.

Higher quality polished concrete starts from the initial treatment of the surface. From the initial abrasive selected to remove surface stock material to the final polish abrasive, the concrete surface is impacted for better or for worse. Using Green Umbrella GreenCut facilitates higher quality by impacting the surface during profile or grinding stages of the mechanically polished concrete process. Introducing microscopic, rounded, liquid cutting agents to work along with metal or fusion style abrasives promotes a surface that is less porous and more refined.
Concrete polishing is a process that cannot be rushed, without negative consequences. However, there are ways to improve productivity and GreenCut helps you to work smarter, not harder. Introducing GreenCut during initial profiling cuts allows the surface to be cut and closed faster. Expose aggregate sooner and progress to a closed surface suitable for honing and polishing using fewer abrasives.

GreenCut™ creates a durable polished concrete floor with high gloss shine.
IceCap can bring the gloss to between 50 and 70 depending on the slab. This
product is not a resinous polymer, and is 100 percent reactive.
There will be no whitening or peeling as seen with polymer products. IceCap, after the two part cure (IceStart & IceStop) and without grinders, will produce gloss readings that are specified for most popular box store and warehouse floors.
The GreenIce Cure System™ is a less labor intensive process than is required for a Grind, Honed and Polished (GHP) floor.
