Why Green Umbrella Canvas Control?

Green Umbrella Canvas Control System

The Canvas Control system addresses common, recurring concrete problems by implementing a simple, step-by-step process.  Eliminate or drastically reduce  curling, cracking at joints & seams and surface weaknesses to produce concrete that is stronger, more durable and more aestetically appealing – starting from day one.

Green Canvas allows design professional to design the ideal architectrual concrete floor from pour to polish.

GreenCanvas is a specialty concrete component classified by type based on the chemical mechanism used to obtain expansion in the concrete matrix during the curing process.  Green Umbrella provides Type-G and is supported by ACI 223-10R an American Concrete Institute Standard for concrete practice and placement.

Canvas Control is designed to give you a concrete surface which can be strengthened from below using the expansive component and specific fiber packages and may be enhanced at the surface by specific aggregate, integral color, integral trowel cure methods, concrete treatments and a variety of finishes to add beauty and lasting value to your project.

Reducing or eliminating joints, curl and cracks

GreenIce™ creates a durable concrete floor with a gloss shine.

G r e e n I ce Cure System™, creates a concrete slab with a surface that looks like ice!  The process begins with our two-part, intregally troweled curing product IceStart and after removing power trowels, IceStop must be applied.  This unique curing system is specifically designed to work with the concrete trowel to reduce or eliminate common problems flatwork finishers face and leave a finish surface that has unique properties of hardness, moisture resistance, density and gloss.

Introduce IceCap to a GreenIce cured concrete slab and you unlock a brilliance that is shocking on a simple Architectural Concrete floor.  Giving the look and clarity of a fresh sheet of ice over a concrete slab.  Comparable to a Profile, Hone and Polish floor specified for many box stores and warehouses. All acheived on the day of placement using less labor, less downtime and less environmental impact.

Use of GreenIce Cure System results in properly cured/protected concrete with a tight finish, and moderate gloss.

Features & Benefits

  • Ease of finishing, eliminates false set
  • Reduces drag on the concrete
  • Reduces subsurface lateral microcracking
  • Remove cat faces
  • Retards set times in hot weather
  • Does not extend set times in cold weather
  • Allows finishing of dry shake like normal concrete
  • Looks like a mechanically polished (PHP) floor
  • Meets/exceeds slip resistance standard
  • Better protection than found on mechanically finished floors
  • Opens new markets for flat-work contractors

Part of the GreenIce Cure System

IceStart™ + IceCap creates a durable polished concrete floor with high gloss shine

IceCap can bring the gloss to between 50 and 70 depending on the slab. This product is not a resinous polymer, and is 100 percent reactive.

There will be no whitening or peeling as seen with polymer products. IceCap, after the two part cure (IceStart & IceStop) and without grinders, will produce gloss readings that are specified for most popular box store and warehouse floors.

The GreenIce Cure System™ is a less labor intensive process than is required for a Grind, Honed and Polished (GHP) floor.

Features & Benefits

  • 100% reactive with deep penetration
  • Produces outstanding floor protection and gloss
  • Non-dissipating, non-resinous formula
  • Produces gloss meter readings between 50 and 70 for a 30% increase in reflectivity
  • Will not whiten, peel, or flake
  • Designed for all surface environments and architectural finishes

Which System should I specify?  Green Umbrella Systems are designed to “Make the Complex … Simple.”  While Canvas Control features a collage of many of our products for the ultimate Architectural Concrete product, our systems can be plugged into small projects with equal success.  Let us guide you…

Help!  Asking for help is nothing to be ashamed about.  We all need help from time to time and the complexities of concrete definitely lend to asking questions.  Our team stands ready for questions from the pour to the polish and will present solutions that “Make the complex … Simple” by Cutting Labor, Downtime & Environmental Impact.

Reinforcement is key to the success of a Canvas Control Floor.  Specifying Green Umbrella recommended fibers will ensure you eliminate unnecessary reinforcement like welded wire mesh (wwm) and ensure that the fibers used will be transparent in the mix – meaning they will not be visible to the final architectural concrete.  Re-bar will not need to be epoxy coated due to the unique mechanical bond of the GreenCanvas, presenting tremendous cost savings.
