Why Is a Process So Critical?
Other construction trades, like electricians, are trained, tested to code, and licensed. Though advancement is being made concerning concrete finishing, at this time, this standard does not exist in the concrete polishing trade. The contractor you hire may or may not have the equipment, experience, or support of a manufacturer who knows all aspects of architectural concrete flooring.
A process is not purchased; it is trained. It is simply identified as good practice. For over 15 years, Green Umbrella has focused on the education of our craftsmen.

ABRASIVE CONCRETE DONE RIGHT
A Wet Abrasive Processed Concrete— A green, mechanical concrete polishing system processes the floor wet with cutting agents and water, avoiding silicosis issues that endanger installers or future inhabitants by contaminating air ducts.
The wet grinding system has been well supported in the industry for the best finish to a floor and prevents issues with OSHA and health safety standards encountered when using other methods.

INTEGRALLY TROWELED CONCRETE PLACEMENT
Integrally troweled concrete placement uses a two-part chemical formulation—a cure and a fixative that fills the voids and closes capillaries within the slab with nano-sized silica particles.
This action refines the slab surface while retaining most of the placement water, significantly minimizing volume loss, cracking, and curling. This extends material life by closing capillaries within the slab, reducing surface abrasion, and creating a sustainable surface profile.
